With a smile that lights up any room and an unapologetic fierceness for her advocacy work in education reform, Vynesha approaches her work with an emphasis on leading and serving with heart, passion and boldness. She believes those are necessary traits that leaders must embody to eradicate the social injustices that have plagued our country for centuries; especially when it comes to serving our children. As a former classroom teacher, principal, and executive coach to school and district leaders, her work in education for the past 20 years has afforded her the opportunity to gain incredible insight into the inequities around our country; and her purpose is to help educators DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT.
A proud HBCU graduate, Vynesha obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Master of Arts in Teaching from Hampton University. She also received a Master’s Endorsement in School Building Administration from Oakland City University. Vynesha’s professional experience spans across urban and suburban school districts, independent charter schools, and charter networks. Her personal experiences throughout her own K-12 school journey led her to her calling in education. Being the only minority in most of her classes, she often faced discriminatory practices from the adults that were responsible for providing a solid education. She frequently found herself advocating for her own needs and the needs of her peers. She decided early on in her youth to be a voice for change by advocating for ALL children to have a joyful, rigorous experience during their school careers.
Leading with excellence and vision, she believes that all children deserve a high quality educational experience and that adults who choose education as a career pathway must acknowledge the gaps that are perpetuating the cyclical oppressive outcomes which occur in schools on a daily basis.
Her impact is second to none and her work speaks for itself.
